History, Philosophy, and the Mission of the Company
 

In 1974 the Connell family created a top quality, contractor grade mildewcide called M-1 PAINT ADDITIVE, and shortly thereafter the Jomaps Company was formed. M-1 Paint Additive quickly became the companies signature product, and over the years M-1 gained such recognition throughout the southeast for quality in the coatings industry, that Jomaps began to branch out and began to sell this product nationally. For the next 25 years the company’s mission and philosophy became “To only produce products that perform better than those already existing”. Because of that philosophy, the M-1 name has come to represent contractor`s grade standards, the highest quality, integrity through beliefs, and true value for the retailer and their customers 
 

In September 2006 a new ownership team bought the company with the goal of growing and building on the companies rich history of “Quality products that work”! While the company’s main mission remains the same “To produce products that perform better then those already existing”, there needed to be a better-defined Goal with our mission, which has expanded our philosophy. We want to become our customers and future customers “Go-To-Company!” for new product innovation, product line extension, and unique packing ideas. The way we get there is by working closer with our current customers as well as listening better to future customers - “To provide our retail partners with Better Products, Innovation, and Packaging that helps set them apart from the competition.”
